ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Extreme cold is affecting the MetroLink system and causing up to 30 minute delays westbound from Grand to Lambert Airport and Grand to Shrewsbury.
Eastbound delays are up to 15 minutes on Blue Line from Shrewsbury MetroLink Station to Fairview Heights Station. These delays could increase or decrease this morning based on weather conditions, according to the transit agency.
There are currently minor delays and may increase or decrease based on traffic and road conditions. Six MetroBus snow routes remain in effect: #18 Taylor, #30 Soulard, #59 Dogtown, #61 Chambers, #73 Carondelet, #3517 Carlyle Plaza – 17th Street.
Metro Call-A-Ride is providing normal service with no delays at this time, according to Metro.
Metro riders are urged to allow extra time for their commute this morning. Customers who must be out are encouraged to dress to be outdoors in these extreme cold temperatures or consider alternate transportation.
MetroLink Stations, transit centers, bus stops and parking lots could be slick, so customers are asked to be extra careful. Crews are working hard to clear snow from Metro parking lots, walkways, transfer areas and platforms.
