CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) – Two brothers are facing charges alleging they are responsible for dozens of smash-and-grab crimes at businesses in south St. Louis County.
Authorities say 36-year-old Joseph Been and 28-year-old Mark Been broke windows and took money from cash registers during a crime spree in October and November. Both remained jailed.
The brothers were originally charged in November, but as the investigation continued additional charges were filed in December and last week.
All told, Joseph Been is charged with about three dozen counts of burglary and stealing. His brother faces more than a dozen charges.
