MAPLEWOOD, Mo. (KMOX) - The Maplewood City Council unanimously voted to amend zoning codes Tuesday that would allow tattoo and piercing shops to open up in the city. The issued was tabled in November as a debate began over which zone those businesses would be allowed to open in.
Maplewood City Manager Marty Corcoran said there are no tattoo/piercing studios currently petitioning for a spot but that could change.
Tattoo piercing shops can now open in the Light Manufacturing and Arterial Business district, located along Hanley Road north of Manchester Road. The AB district is along Big Bend and on Manchester Road.
