Schnucks Recalling Ground Beef Sold In Des Peres

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) –  Schnucks Markets, Inc. has voluntarily recalled fresh ground beef sold before 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014 at its Des Peres, Missouri store at 12332 Manchester Road (63131).

Store officials say the precaution is being taken because a metal clip was found in the grinder during routine cleaning.

The recall includes all fresh ground beef sold Wednesday, Jan. 15 with a sell-by date of Jan. 16, 2014.

Once the clip was discovered, all fresh ground beef was immediately removed from the sales floor.

Any Des Peres Schnucks’ customer who purchased fresh ground beef before 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15 with the Jan. 16 sell-by date may return the product for a full refund or exchange.

This is an isolated incident and no other stores are affected.  There have been no customer reports of injury or illness.

Customers with questions may contact the Schnucks Consumer Affairs Department at 314-994-4400 or 1-800-264-4400.
