Dwayne Bowe Says He Was Profiled During November Arrest
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (CBS St. Louis) – Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe says he’s always being watched by police and says cops profiled him during his arrest on drug charges, reports KCTV.
Bowe was pulled over on November 10th while driving 48 mph in a 35 mile an hour zone, according to a Riverside police report.
He was arrested for having 10 grams of marijuana in the car, say prosecutors.
Speaking on the morning sports show on WHB-AM, Bowe said he was targeted by cops.
“The people close around me and my team and the organization know I had nothing to do with that. I was being profiled,” he said.
Bowe also said he’s been the center of attention for more than the Riverside police.
“It’s not just them. It’s everybody,” he said. “When you’re in a town where there’s not a whole lot going on, bad media is good media. You’ve just got to stay calm and stay collected like I do now and just move in silence.”
Bowe is facing municipal charges because the amount of drugs were not enough for felony charges, say authorities.
