A re-work of an old classic horror film franchise failed badly it’s opening weekend. “I, Frankenstein” opened with a tepid gross of $8.3 million, which was only good for sixth place in the box office standings this weekend. “Ride Along” starring Kevin Hart and Ice Cube was number one for the second week in a row scoring $21.2 million, giving it a healthy grand total of $75.5 million for two weeks of sales.

The gripping true story of some Navy Seals on a clandestine operation, “Lone Survivor,” finished second with $12.6 million.

The animated film “Nuts” finished third with $12.4 million, with another animated movie, “Frozen,” in fourth place with $9.0 million. After ten weeks in release, “Frozen” has taken in $357.8 million, making it one the most financially successful films of 2013. Disney has already said there will be a Broadway musical version of “Frozen” in about two years. “Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit” came in fifth spot with $8.8 million.
