St. Louis (KMOX) Normandy School District Superintendent Ty McNichols presented to a crowd of about 300 Saturday his plan for reforming and moving the district toward full accreditation.
A group of district staff members-parents-and civic and commuinty leaders listened as McNichols told them he needed community support to succeed in Jefferson City.
According to the Post Dispatch-hundreds of postcards addressed to key lawmakers in the state were handed out to the crowd. They asked for a fix to the transfer statute so compliance wouldn’t bankrupt struggling districts–and–$5 million to help the district stay afloat through the rest of this school year.
McNichols told the crowd–“time is not on our side”.
