Man Hospitalized After Super Bowl Argument

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – A man is hospitalized in St. Louis after a shooting spurred by an argument over the Super Bowl. Police say the incident happened shortly before 1 a.m. in the 4900 block of Washington.

The 47-year-old victim told authorities he had been drinking with a 50-year-old relative all day, but when he went to bed the relative started yelling at him and shot him in the leg. The shooting happened hours after the Seattle Seahawks’ lopsided 43-8 win over Denver in the Super Bowl, but it wasn’t clear what exactly the men argued about.

The victim is hospitalized in critical condition. Police have not disclosed names or specific details about the relationship. Authorities say both men were intoxicated when the shooting occurred. St. Louis police are still looking for the suspect.
