School Consolidation Could Mean a “Domino Effect”

Brett Blume

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Normandy Schools could be the first of many “dominoes” to fall, at least according to a study released Tuesday by Education Plus, formerly the Cooperating School Districts.

Executive Director Don Senti of Normandy Schools says if their district is allowed to fall, others could follow.

“This is very likely to start a chain reaction of consolidating one district into another, a domino effect so to speak, that will go statewide,” says Senti.

The proposed fix would send in special “intervention” teams to address problems in failing schools at the first sign of trouble.
