ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Missouri continues to report its influenza status as widespread despite plummeting numbers of new flu cases.

Statewide, new flu cases fell in the past week from more than 1,100 to 474. In St. Louis County, the drop continues as well falling from 51 new cases two weeks ago to 31 this past week. St. Louis County has seen more than 1,300 flu cases this season. Missouri overall has had nearly 20,000 cases. Deaths in the state attributed to pneumonia and the flu now total nearly 1,500.
