Realtors Hopeful for Spring Seller’s Market

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – It’s almost spring and local realtors are hoping for good things when the robins return and the home buyers venture out. Agent Sean Hayes with Coldwell Banker says the St. Louis market is a seller’s market.

“We are experiencing a major shortage in housing inventory in the St. Louis market right now. We really need homes to sell and there are buyers out there just languishing because there are no good properties for them to purchase,” says Hayes.

Hayes adds that with the average home sitting on the market just 36 days, homes in the $250,000 to $400,000 price range are in high demand.

Other agents attending a real estate seminar in Kirkwood say many seniors anxious to downsize are expected to put their homes on the market in the coming months.
