ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – If Missouri American provides your water and it tastes a little different lately — don’t worry.

Company officials say it’s normal and perfectly harmless, caused by the recent snow-melt along the Missouri River.

They say users may notice a change in the taste and odor of their tap water, which officials insist are “natural occurrences” and won’t change the fact that the water is safe to drink.

The water’s safe to drink and use. Officials with Missouri American Water say more than 500 water quality tests are performed per day to ensure that tap water meets — or exceeds — all state and federal standards.
