ST. LOUIS - One of the “World’s Most Admired Companies” according to FORTUNE Magazine is here in St. Louis. Monsanto Company was recognized as No. 2 in its industry sector.

Hugh Grant, Monsanto’s chairman and CEO, says the recognition from FORTUNE is a direct reflection of the quality of the people here calling them among the very best in the world.

The World’s Most Admired Companies list is based on company surveys and peer ratings from senior executives, directors, and analysts. Factors considered range from innovativeness to retention of talented people and responsibility to the community and/or the environment. Last week, Monsanto was honored on MIT Technology Review’s 2014 “50 Smartest Companies” list.
