ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – With the announcement that the Taste of St. Louis is moving to Chesterfield, why aren’t St. Louis leaders concerned about the loss of the event?

Missy Kelly, with the Partnership for Downtown St. Louis, says they knew it was in progress the move of Taste and Blues Week to Chesterfield.

And she says it’s not a stain on the city since both events were successful downtown.

“You know, whenever you put on an event in the city where you have to close streets there’s a process you have to go through. And it’s no different for a big event like Taste than it is for a small run like a 5k,” says Kelly.

Kelly says they are working on attracting other big events to downtown St. Louis.
