CASEYVILLE, Ill. (KMOX) – The Village of Caseyville, Illinois could find out Friday if their police chief will be fired – for a third time.

The St. Clair County Judge who issued a temporary restraining order that allowed Chief Jose Alvarez to keep his job will hold another hearing on the matter.

Mayor Len Black, heard along with Alvarez in this Belleville News Democrat video of a recent Village Board meeting, fired Alvarez last month. The board reinstated him, but Black fired him again last week.

The judge ruled Tuesday that Alvarez has the right to due process and questioned if the village violated his contract.
