PETA Looks To Construct Memorial For Dead Turkeys

SIOUX CITY, IA (CBS St. Louis) – Earlier this month a truck carrying over 500 turkeys overturned killing all the birds.

Now the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals want the Iowa department of transportation to build a temporary memorial tombstone to honor all those turkeys.

According to the Iowa City Press-Citizen, Alex Moore wants to build a 10-foot structure to remember the turkeys,

Moore is a resident of Ankeny, Iowa, and a member of PETA.  In his letter to Highway Division Director John Adam, Moore said he would like the tombstone to be up for a month to promote safe driving and a meat-free diet.
