Downtown Living: See For Yourself Why People Love It

by Debbie Monterrey, dcmonterrey@cbs.com

In 2000, there were approximately 800 people living in Downtown St. Louis. In 2013, that number was 14,000.

That’s a pretty dramatic turnaround!

You can see for yourself what makes living Downtown so special at the 2014 Downtown Living Tour on Saturday, May 3rd.

Living Downtown has become so much easier, too, with the addition of many necessary services. There’s a great grocer/drug store, Schnuck’s Culinaria. There’s medical care at Downtown Urgent Care (they can be your regular doctor as well), dry cleaners, pet care, tons of dining/drinking venues, shops and so much more.

(Downtown is the area from the River to Tucker, Jones Dome to Busch. Downtown West goes from Tucker to Jefferson. I only include this because some people call anything in the city limits “Downtown” which is incorrect).
