ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Ahoy!
It’s officially Navy Week in St. Louis.
The kick-off was a ceremony this morning on the steps of Soldiers Memorial.
Vice Admiral William A. Brown with the transportation command at Scott Air Force Base says there’s a lot on tap this week.
“Leapfrogs will be here jumping out of aircrafts coming to St. Louis, and we’ll top it off with the Blue Angels,” he says.
Lee Metcalf with the Navy League of St. Louis says there’s a lot of activities for the whole family, but he also hopes that some young people are encouraged to sign up.
“The reality is that Navy is forward-deployed,” he says. “And someone who chooses that service is almost certainly going to have a chance to see this big, beautiful world we have.”
Check out the Spirit of St. Louis Airport website for a full list of activities.
