Circus Flora Founder Dies
ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – A St. Louis circus legend has died.
Ivor David Balding, the founder and artistic director of Circus Flora died at his home Friday night at age 75.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
Recently in poor health, Balding spent his last day Friday at work planning this year’s 28th Circus Flora season that begins at the end of the month.
Balding is survived by his wife, a large family – and an even larger extended international circus family.
Circus Flora is considered a world-class, traditional one-ring circus with an emphasis on developing young talent and preserving the worldwide circus tradition.
