Autism and Cardinals

by Debbie Monterrey dcmonterrey@cbs.com

It’s an honor to be the emcee of the 8th Annual Charity Dinner and Auction for the Thompson Foundation for Austism on Thursday, May 15th!

Cardinal manager Mike Matheny and General Manager John Mozeliak will be bringing along some Cardinals players. Mizzou coaches Gary Pinkel and Norm Stewart will also join us!

According to the Centers for Disease Control, 1 in 68 children will be diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. The odds are even greater when looking at boys–1 in 42.

The Thompson Foundation supports autism programs, facilities and professionals at the MU Thompson Center, and other national and statewide autism programs. The foundation also provides scholarships and financial support that enable families to obtain diagnosis, treatment and support services from the Thompson Center.
