Missouri Woman Pleads Guilty In Husband’s Murder

FREDERICKTOWN, Mo. (KMOX) - A southeast Missouri woman has pleaded guilty to the murder of her husband.
Cheryl Long, 50, of Fredericktown entered the plea on Thursday. She was originally charged with first-degree murder in the September shooting death of Alan Long, 56.
At the time police were Alan Long had committed suicide. An autopsy and further investigation instead pointed to murder, and Cheryl Long was arrested the next day.
The plea deal calls for a sentence of life in prison.
