Clarksville, MO (KMOX) Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has directed the Department of Public Safety to coordinate the state’s response to the flooding along the Mississippi River.

As part of that response effort, approximately 50 Missouri Department of Corrections offenders will arrive in Clarksville Saturday morning to assist with sandbagging.
They will be joining Governor Nixon’s Faith-Based and Community Service Partnership for Disaster Recovery, The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, and AmeriCorps St. Louis in the effort.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol will also be supplying additional law enforcement patrol in the Clarksville area.
