ST. LOUIS (KMOX) -A former NHLer who played last season in a Swiss professional league will get a chance to return to the U.S. with the St. Louis Blues.

26-year-old forward Peter Mueller signed a one-year, two-way contract.

Mueller played for the U.S. at the 2014 World Championships.

The Bloomington, Minnesota appeared in five consecutive NHL seasons from 2007 to 2013 before heading overseas. In 297 career NHL regular season games between Phoenix, Colorado and Florida, Mueller has accumulated 160 points (63 goals, 97 assists), including a career-best 54-point (22 goals, 32 assists) effort during his rookie campaign in 2007-08.
