More details now on the death of a detainee at the Saint Louis city jail…
Police say jail guards found 28-year-old Alexis McGovern of High Ridge unconscious in her bed, Friday afternoon, as family members were paying her bail money.
There were reportedly no signs of trauma on McGovern’s body.
Police say she had suffered from medical issues and had recently been through surgery.
No word on why McGovern was detained.
The city’s public safety department spokeswoman says foul play is not suspected in her death.

ST. LOUIS (KMOX)- The St. Louis city medical examiner is investigating the cause of death of a 28-year-old woman about to be released from custody at the city justice center.
Authorities say she had a medical emergency while jailed, Friday, then died at a hospital.
Her family had just posted bond, but before her scheduled release, she needed medical attention.
Jail medical staff performed CPR, but were unable to save her.
A St. Louis department of public safety spokeswoman says there were no signs of foul play.
