Concerts, Parties Surround World Cup Qualifier

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The match isn’t until Friday evening, but the pre-game festivities for the U.S. Men’s National Team World Cup Qualifier at Busch Stadium officially kick off Thursday.

They start at 5 p.m., when the downtown buildings will light up in red, white and blue. At 7 p.m., FanHQ St. Louis opens with a party at Ballpark Village.

On Friday, there’s a Welcome to STL Lunchtime Concert at the Old Post Office Plaza, which will include a soccer field at 8th and Locust. At 1:30 p.m., FanHQ reopens at Ballpark Village and runs until the “March to the Match” at 4:30.

The match against St. Vincent and The Grenadines is scheduled to start at 5:30.

Then on Saturday, there’s a Sendoff Concert at Ballpark Village at 2 p.m.

Cardinals events services director Vicki Bryant expects nearly 44,000 to attend the match. As of Wednesday, there were some tickets available in all price ranges.
