Ferguson City Council Thanks Interim City Manager for Service

FERGUSON, Mo. (NEWS RELEASE) – The Ferguson City Council thanked Ed Beasley on Thursday for his hard work and dedication during the past five months he worked as Interim City Manager.

Beasley was appointed by the Council on June 10, 2015 through a contracted agreement with Interim Solutions, LLC, a municipal government staffing agency.

“When Mr. Beasley was appointed there was a lot of instability,” said Ferguson Mayor James Knowles III. “There were several staffing changes and we needed someone with his experience to calm the waters and for that we are very grateful.”

He previously worked as City Manager for Glendale, Arizona where he was responsible for managing an annual budget of about $1.1 billion and a staff of over 2,000 full-time and temporary employees.

“The time that I have spent in Ferguson has been rewarding,” said Beasley. “I appreciate working with the Ferguson staff and Council and I believe that the City is headed in the right direction.”

The Ferguson City Council named De’Carlon Seewood as permanent City Manager on Tuesday, November 17, 2015. Beasley’s last day of employment is Friday, November 20.
