ST. LOUIS (NEWS RELEASE) – The National Hockey League (NHL) and the NHL Players Association announced Wednesday the initial 16-man rosters for each team participating in the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.

Blues forwards Jori Lehtera (Team Finland), Alexander Steen (Team Sweden) and Vladimir Tarasenko (Team Russia) were all selected to represent their country. The remaining seven roster spots for each team will be announced no later than June 1. The World Cup will run from Sept. 17 through Oct. 1, 2016 at Air Canada Centre in Toronto.

Games will be televised on ESPN in the United States, and Sportsnet and TVA Sports in Canada.

Lehtera, 28, has dressed in 63 games for the Blues this season, ranking seventh on the club with 27 points, including seven goals and 20 assists. The Helsinki native has represented Finland nine times during his career, including the 2014 World Championships (Silver Medal) and 2014 Olympic Games (Bronze Medal).

Steen, 32, has appeared in 61 games for the Blues this season, ranking second on the team with 47 points, including 17 goals and 30 assists. The Winnipeg, Manitoba, native and Swedish international has represented Sweden eight times during his career, including the 2014 Olympic Games (Silver Medal).

Tarasenko, 24, has dressed in 64 games for the Blues this season, leading the club and ranking 14th overall with 55 points, including 30 goals and 25 assists. The Yaroslavl native has represented Russia 10 times during his career, including the 2009 U-18 World Juniors (Silver Medal), the 2011 U-20 World Juniors (Gold Medal) and the 2015 World Championships (Silver Medal).
