Chris Hrabe’s High School Spotlight: State Basketball Playoffs #TBT

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – There won’t be any talk of a KMOX Spotlight curse thanks to the performances of Althoff Catholic High School and Incarnate Word Academy. The boys of Althoff and girls of Incarnate are semifinalist in their respective basketball state championship tournaments.

The Red Knights of Incarnate Word are 25-4 this season and will play at Mizzou Arena in Columbia, Missouri against MICDS in the state semifinals. It would be a third straight state title for Incarnate and senior Abby Hoff who is second on her team in scoring with 11.8 points per game.

The Crusaders of Althoff Catholic High School brought a storm to Springfield, Illinois and the state quarterfinals. A tornado warning nearly postponed its 83-69 win over Springfield Southeast. Senior Brendon Gooch contributed 15 points and game highs of 10 rebounds and four blocked shots in the win.
