Freight Train Derails in Maryland Heights

MARYLAND HEIGHTS (KMOX) — A freight train derailed in Maryland Heights Monday afternoon and will likely block St. Louis Waterworks Road for the next day or two.

Police say it derailed shortly after 4:00 Monday afternoon between Creve Coeur Mill Road and River Valley Drive.

No word yet on what caused the derailment. The train was carrying gravel, police say no injuries have been reported.
