O’FALLON, Mo. (KMOX/AP) — Police in O’Fallon have confirmed Pamela Hupp was responsible for shooting and killing an intruder during a Tuesday robbery.
Hupp shot and killed 33-year-old Louis Gumpenberger after he followed her into her home in the 1200 block of Little Brave Drive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hupp was a central figure in the case investigating the 2011 stabbing death of Betsy Faria outside Troy, Mo. Hupp was a witness in the trial of Faria’s husband, Russell, who was convicted in 2013 and subsequently acquitted in 2015.
Hupp was with Betsy Faria the night of the slaying and became a beneficiary of one of her life insurance policies shortly beforehand.
