7,000 Flags to be Posted on Art Hill

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The 7,000 men and women killed in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq will each be commemorated with a flag posted on Art Hill from Sept. 6 through the 11.

“We’re flying an individual flag for each one of those soldiers that died in theater in the wars on terror since 9/11. We’ll have dog tags and pictures on each flag.”

That’s Richard Randal Jr. with “Flags of Valor,” who says 400 of his closest friends have been working on the project for a year, making flags.

He says each night, the hill will be lit.

Randal was a guest on KMOX’s Charlie Brennan Show.
