Animal Cruelty Charge for Woman Who Tied Shoelace Around Dog’s Muzzle

SHILOH, Ill. (KMOX) – A Shiloh woman has been issued a citation for animal cruelty after she tied a shoestring around her dog’s snout and posted a picture of it on Facebook.

Sarah Boothby, 24, wrote the caption “When you chew up mommy’s show laces…” alongside the picture showing a purple shoelace clamping the dog’s mouth shut.

Officers with the Shiloh Police Department conducted an investigation after they were notified of the photo, and concluded the dog was in good health and was well taken care of.

Officials said the shoestring was tied around the dog’s snout for “about 45 seconds,” KMOV reports.
