Missouri Man Charged in Son’s Abduction was Quiet

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) – Neighbors say a Missouri man arrested in Fayetteville last weekend in the abduction of his son was quiet and mostly stayed indoors.

Twenty-four-year-old Corey Hotsenpiller was arrested Saturday in the abduction of his 5-year-old son Beck three years ago. Authorities got a tip from U.S. marshals in Springfield, Missouri.

The Fayetteville Observer reported that neighbors said Hotsenpiller lived with his girlfriend and his son in the home.

Cumberland County sheriff’s spokesman Sean Swain says the girlfriend was not charged.

Swain says the boy has been taken into the custody of the Department of Social Services and is waiting for his mother, Autumn Breci, to pick him up.

Springfield Police spokeswoman Lisa Cox says the couple shared custody of their son when he was taken in 2013.

Shared custody? Not really….Autumn signed that baby away to Corey. It was only almost 2 years later when her parents found out that she tried to act like a concerned mother and asked for her rights back. Now how does that make any sense? Do not put this child in the wrong hands. His father is all he has ever known. He has raised him from an infant up until now and I don’t think it’s right to take Beck from his father. I think it will be in the best interest of the child to hand him over to family that loves him. He is still sitting at dfs…….SAD
