GODFREY, IL (KMOX) – An 18-year-old Godfrey resident faces charges of making a terrorist threat and providing material support for terrorism.
Keaun Cook was arrested last week at his family’s home in Godfrey after a person told authorities that Cook had made a verbal threat concerning a mass casualty incident at “one or more” locations in Madison County.
He was also allegedly in contact with a terrorist organization — but authorities weren’t ready to say which one.
They only said that the threat to the public has been removed with Cook’s arrest.
He faces up to 70 years in prison if convicted on the terrorism charges.
