Commissioners Discuss Airport Name Change

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Should Lambert St. Louis International Airport change its name?

Airport commissioners meet Wednesday afternoon to discuss whether the name “Lambert” is confusing to potential clients and international travelers.

The airport director last month suggest the name St. Louis International Airport at Lambert Field, saying such a change would make it easier for travelers looking to fly in.

The airport authority found that more than half of St. Louisans polled aren’t familiar with the airport’s namesake, Albert Bond Lambert.

If the authority approves the name change, the St. Louis Board of Aldermen must also sign off before changes are made.
