Children Safe After Carjacking; 2 Suspects in Custody

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – (UPDATED 3:15 p.m.) Two children are safe after a vehicle they were riding in was carjacked this morning.

It was about 8:15 this morning when a mother went inside a gas station at North Hanley Road and Page Avenue. She came back out to find her car and two children – ages 2 and 4 – gone.

The suspect drove about four blocks before dropping the children off in University City.

Police were searching for the stolen BMW on Thursday.

Police Chief Tim Swope says the stolen car was located at Skinker and Wells, and two people are in custody. Their identities haven’t been released, as of Thursday evening no charges had yet been filed.
