Graffiti Art: Paint Louis 2016

I must admit, I love graffiti art. The actual artistic stuff, not random scribbles or “tagging” in inappropriate places.

Last weekend’s Paint Louis 2016 was a feast for the eyes and my kids loved that they could participate (Scrapcans for Kids).

Paint Louis attracted artists from across the country and across the globe. It was fascinating to walk along the south flood wall and see the art work happening in front of us. The artists were more than happy to talk about their work.

I talked to artists from Nebraska, Oklahoma, several from Chicago, two from Texas. Everyone I talked to had high praise for the event, which was sanctioned by the city of St. Louis with all the proper permits and permission.

If you’ve never taken a walk along the south floodwall, you should. Just take Chouteau east until you can’t drive anymore. And there you are!

To the right is miles of art on the floodwall. To the left is the newly refurbished river walk, which is also worth strolling down.
