Pipe Bomb Scare in Richmond Heights Shuts Down Highway

RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Mo. (KMOX) – Some home rehab workers in Richmond Heights found what they thought was a pipe bomb inside a property Friday afternoon.

Police say the men brought the item to the public safety building.

Adjacent properties and roadways, including Big Bend near I-64/40 in both directions, were cleared for more than an hour, while the regional bomb and arson squad handled the matter.

Police say a remote-control robot was used, but they have not said what the item actually was.
