WASHINGTON D.C. (KMOX) – U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill mocks both Donald Trump and Dr. Mehmet Oz of the “Dr. Oz Show” as the two discuss the Republican presidential nominee’s health on television.
McCaskill blasts the two on Twitter, referring to them as “snake oil” salesmen when Dr. Oz pledged to avoid questions Trump wasn’t comfortable answering, suggesting the doctor went easy on the politician.
Two years ago, McCaskill lambasted Dr. Oz at a Senate committee hearing for lending his support to controversial weight loss prescriptions, such as green coffee extract and raspberry ketone.
After looking at the medical records Trump provided, Oz says he was “happy” with Trump’s physical condition and, if he were his patient, would “send them on their way.”
In response to his appearance on the “Dr. Oz Show,” Trump says “I view this as, in a way, going to see my doctor. It’s just a little bit public, that’s all.”
