It isn’t great musical theater. It is great fun!

Based on a novel from 1907, which was the genesis for the Alec Guinness film from 1949, “Kind Hearts and Coronets,” “A Gentleman’s Guide To Love and Murder” is about a young man who discovers he is a distant kin to a fabulously wealthy British family and sets out to work (and murder) his way to the top of that clan and their financial riches.

Kevin Massey is excellent as Monty Navarro, the poor boy with evil ambition, but it is John Rapson who steals the show playing multiple roles as colorful members of the D’Ysquith family, the ones with the fortune. He is hilarious.

“Gentleman’s Guide” is presented with a vaudeville comedy flair and lots of fast-paced, racy humor and a spiffy, colorful cast.

This is a killer comedy, and you’ll love it.
