Car Plows Into Homecoming Parade Audience

HAZELWOOD, Mo. (KMOX) – Some spectators waiting for the Hazelwood West High School homecoming parade, Saturday morning, are lucky to be alive.

A 17-year old driver lost control of his Mustang and plowed into the crowd assembled on Howdershell near Lynn Haven, according to police.

“This was not a situation, that we know of, that was intentional. It appears to have been an accident,” said Hazelwood Police Lt. Andy Eagan.

Eagan told KMOX eight people suffered non life-threatening injuries.

He said the driver faces charges of careless and imprudent driving and second-degree assault.

Lt. Egan did not know if the suspect was a student at Hazelwood West.
