Early Voting Kicks Off in Illinois

(KMOX) – Early voting gets underway today in Illinois.

Jim Tenuto of the State Board of Elections says early voting has proven to be a good option for some. Twenty-two percent of voters went to the polls early in 2012 and 18 percent voted early in 2008.

“I’m guessing the numbers maybe even higher this time around, especially when you consider all the interest in this election and the fact that the early polling period seems to be longer than it was in the past,” Tenuto says.

Early, in-person voting runs through November 7th. Voting locations can be found online at elections.IL.gov.
