ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – A woman was hospitalized after a bullet struck her as she was driving on a busy road Thursday evening.

The 44-year-old victim told police she was making a left turn from S. Kingshighway onto Oakland when she heard a “loud pop” and saw her rear passenger side window shatter.

The woman immediately felt pain in her back and realized she had been shot.

She was taken to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.

Three children in the car at the time — ages 8, 11 and 17 — all escaped harm.
