ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Right now Washington University is a hotbed of activity leading up to Sunday’s Presidential debate.
Tuesday night’s Vice Presidential debate watch party at Wash U was sponsored by AARP. The reason, they’re concerned Social Security is not getting the attention it deserves in this Presidential election.
Legislative Counsel for AARP David Certner says they’ve turned to Social Media to let the moderators know the importance. “This is a critical issue for the American public, I mean, we has 60-million beneficiaries we have over 100-million people paying into the programs. The biggest most important program this Country has, we need to hear directly from the presidential candidates what they will do to keep this program strong for the future.”
AARP wants to make sure the question gets asked of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. So they’ve started a social media campaign to ask that question. If you would like to see that question presented to the candidates, go to http://takeastand.aarp.org
