Belleville Man Pleads Guilty in East St. Louis Murder

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KMOX) – A Belleville man has entered a guilty plea for his role in the December 2015 death of Roderick Taylor.

Taylor’s body was found in the trunk of a Cadillac that crashed near a roundabout in East St. Louis while attempting to escape a traffic stop.

The driver of the Cadillac, 32-year-old George Tillman, was charged with first-degree murder after it was found that Taylor had been shot multiple times.

It was determined that Taylor had been lured to the home of co-defendant Ashly Bonner so that Tillman and Bonner could rob him, but a struggle ensued and Taylor was fatally shot.

Prosecutors will seek a 40-year prison term for Tillman and he’ll have to serve his entire sentence.
