FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. (KMOX) – Police in Fairview Heights are asking for the public’s help to track down the vandal or vandals who spray painted several homes, street signs and a park building over the weekend.
Officers were called to the Miracle League baseball field at Moody Park around 9 a.m. Sunday and found that the number “13” had been spray painted in black on the women’s restroom.
Spreading out into the nearby Brittany Estates subdivision, they found that graffiti had been tagged on the siding and garage doors of several homes.
Stop signs and other markers along the roadway had also been spray painted with the number “13”, including at the intersection of Union Hill Road and Longacre Drrive, and continuing to the intersection of Liberty and McKnight, where a utility pole had also been marked.
In all, officers took 10 separate reports for criminal defacement of property.
The Miracle League baseball field was built at Moody Park with funds raised by the Catch-22 Foundation and the Miracle League of Fairview Heights to provide opportunities for children of all abilities to play ball.
At this time there are no suspects or motives.
