Former Carr Lane Principal Cornelius Green is charged with an apparent murder-for-hire in the death of his girlfriend, Jocelyn Peters and her unborn child.

Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce says Green paid a hitman $2,500 to shoot and kill Peters. It appears the hit money may have come from a Carr Lane School Fund that Green is accused of raiding – money students had paid to buy snacks.

The connection?

Green’s childhood friend Phillip Cutler,35, of Muskogee was charged with two counts each of first-degree murder and armed criminal action for the killing in June. Green is accused of allegedly paying Cutler to carry out the murder.

As previously reported, Green found her unconscious with a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Green is behind bars and the prosecutor is seeking a $3 million cash-only bond.

Joyce says it will be up to the incoming Circuit Attorney, Kim Gardner, to decide whether to seek the death penalty.
