Hear the Emotional Hymn Written, Read By Synder’s Brother-In-Law

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) –  Fallen St. Louis County Police Officer Blake Snyder was honored with the reading of a poem written by Snyder’s brother-in-law, and fellow police officer, Justin Spark. He read the verses, fighting off tears, at Snyder’s funeral at St. Louis Family Church in Chesterfield, Mo.

Spark called the poem ‘the blue hymn for the fallen.’

Spark said Snyder knew he had written that poem, but didn’t expect it would be in honor of Snyder the first time he read it.

KMOX was streaming the ceremony online Thursday afternoon:Also speaking at the funeral were St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar, and St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger:
