Southeast Missouri Congressman Speaks at the White House

WASHINGTON D.C. (KMOX) – A member of Missouri’s Republican Congressional delegation gets a moment to speak at The White House.

Congressman Jason Smith of Southeast Missouri observed President Trump signing a memorandum on aluminum imports, which says quote, “the American aluminum industry has been severely-damaged by unfair foreign trade.”

“We were one of those smelters that closed last year, losing 900 jobs,” he says.

Smith was referring to the Noranda aluminum smelter in New Madrid, Missouri.
