ST. LOUIS (KMOX) — Heather Navarro will be St. Louis’s new 28th Ward alderwoman.

The Democratic candidate easily beat independent challengers Steve Roberts, who served as an alderman in the past, Celeste Vossmeyer and Green Party candidate Jerome Bauer.

Navarro received 69 percent of the vote. 26 percent of registered voters in the 28th Ward turned out. The election was called to fill the vacancy left by Lyda Krewson, who in April was elected mayor.
